Audi has finally let the R8 V10 loose after months of speculation and spy pictures had littered the Internet. The powerful R8 uses a 5.2-litre V10 naturally aspirated engine producing a hectic 393kW. Lamborghini uses the same powerplant (duh) in the Gallardo LP560-4.
Visually the car becomes even more aggressive than the already angry R8 4.2 V8. A rear diffuser for one, isn’t just for visual impact but also acts as a down force catalyst. Big twin oval pipes adorn the rear instead of that four-chrome exhaust system.
Like the V8, the R8 V10 comes standard with a 6-speed manual gearbox and an R tronic semi-automatic. Audi says it will run from 0 – 100km/h in 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 315km/h.
The Audi R8 V10 will be in Mzansi within the next few months at a price hovering at around R1.9 million.
