Prices for several BMW models have been announced. The new Z4 sDrive35is with a double-clutch transmission comes in at R770 500 excluding the new C02 tax of R8 464.50. Powered by the same 3.0-litre single turbo engine found in the new 535i, the Z4 sDrive35is puts out a useful 250kW at 5900rpm and 450Nm at 1500rpm.
We’ve already revealed pricing for the brand new 2011 X3 but two other X models now sport a new engine derivative. The X5 xDrive40d and X6 xDrive40d (both with automatic gearboxes only) are now available for sale. The X5 comes in at R752 500 ex C02 tax and the X6 goes for R801 500. BMW places a premium between the two siblings, hence the R49 000 difference. Both are thrusted by the same 3.0-litre twin turbo diesel making 225kW at 4400rpm and 600Nm between 1500rpm and 2500rpm. It thus becomes the most powerful diesel engine in its class.
