Audi finally let the cat out of the bag at the Detroit Auto Show by unveiling the Sportback Concept, which is a preview of the upcoming Audi A7 four-door coupe. The Sportback sits four (four individual seats) and has a boot that opens like it’s a hatchback. Porsche Panamera opens in the same way, and so does the BMW X6 though that one sits higher off the ground.
The concept car has a 3.0-litre TDI engine producing 190kW (250hp) and 550Nm of torque. It’s mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. Then engine is compliant with the 50 US States, the world’s biggest car market, so it should be sold there too. Later in the year we’ll be able to see a full production version of the A7 which will go on sale in Mzansi during 2010.
