Bugatti is building a total of only 300 examples of the 407km/h Veyron hypercar. Of these 300 units, 250 copies have already been made and only 50 left to build. A cabriolet/ drop-top Grand Sport model will also be manufactured with a limited run of 150 units so hurry before they run out of pre-order stock!
The Bugatti Veyron is built on a premise of an engine with 16 cylinders, 4 turbochargers and a four-wheel-drive system. It produces 736kW (1001hp) and 1250Nm of torque for a 0 - 100km/h time of just 2.5 seconds. In essence it’s about as powerful as four SAAB 9-3 Turbos, three Audi S4s (MY 2009) and two BMW M5s.
One Bugatti Veyron costs €1.8 million (works out at about R23 million today). Unfortunately because they only come in left-hand-drive, South Africans can buy one but can only race them on a track and can’t drive them on a public road.
