A more affordable Volkswagen Tiguan has been launched. The little VW SUV was introduced last year and has been selling steadily even in these uncertain times. Now a cheap version, if you can say that with a smile, is available for sale.
Retailing at a basic R290 000, the Tiguan Trend & Fun 1.4 TSI Manual 4X2 runs a front-wheel-drive (FWD) system instead of the 4MOTION that is fitted to the rest of the range. Coupled with it is a 6-speed manual gearbox. Power is 110kW and maximum torque is 240Nm.
VW says the vehicle will run from 0 – 100km/h in 9.3 seconds with a top whack of 195km/h. average fuel consumption is a claimed 7.4 litres per 100km.
Standard features include a CD/MP3 player, climatic air conditioning, electric windows, ESP and EBD. The electronic parking brake is fitted with the Auto Hold function.
The options list includes things like park distance control, xenon headlights, sat nav, cruise control and park assist.
